Is it? If you say so. But really the whole leadership cult thing is overplayed - ever since John Smith's tragic death it seems there is an unhealthy focus on one person - a party to the left of centre should not depend on a single leader. Attlee led most left-wing Labour administration ever, yet was a colourless politician who sat in Churchill's wartime cabinet.

For what it is worth, I don't think #Starmer some kind of snake - but #1Priority for #Labour is a majority

It is indeed beyond belief - principally because it is not true.

The #1priority for #Starmer is to win the next election

The #2 is to do so without giving too many hostages to fortune

Those expecting him to impale his party on a quixotic attempt to reverse Brexit are doomed to disappointment

The #1priority for any #LOTO is to achieve power, and #2priority to do so whilst avoiding as many hard commitments (s)he can be hit over the head with afterwards. I think #Starmer is doing OK, and critics are under-estimating the number of #shyTories there are to narrow the #pollLead from over 20% to something much closer.
