Charles Bannerman retains his 145-year-old record for the highest score at which a batter retired hurt without resuming.

Ric Findlay points out that Warner equalled Inzamam-ul-Haq (200*, Pakistan v Sri Lanka at Dhaka, March 1999) as the highest final score after retiring and resuming.

The highest score at which a batter has retired and then resumed in Test cricket is currently 178 by Dennis Amiss (who was eventually out for 183) for England v Pakistan at The Oval in August 1974.

Today David Warner retired not out (with cramp) on 200 for Australia v South Africa in the Melbourne Test.

If he does not resume his innings tomorrow, he will break one of the oldest records in the book.
