The critically endangered Olearia astroloba rambling around my drought study like it owns the joint. This is a curious but challenging species to work with that seems to hate water, finicky germination and damn difficult to find in the wild. There's probably a good reason it's rare.

Silphium laciniatum, the compass flower, a native of north america. It gets its name from the fact that its later leaf sets always point north to south. They can grow 10 - 12 ft (3-3.66 m). Quite showy.

Coreopsis tinctoria, the plains coreopsis, the summer snowflake. Look at the bright. Such a bold and beautiful native flower to the great plains of north america.

: un nuevo género de subarbustos de zonas altoandinas, antes ubicados en el género . Lo conforman 20 especies, y en Colombia se encuentran A. colombiana, A. complanata, A. ilinissae, A. lagunillensis, A. puracensis, A. thuyoides y A. thyrsoidea.
Etimología del género: del latín “andicola”, por los “” (declinado en analogía con Alpēs), y “colō”, que significa "habitante de los Andes".

: un nuevo género de hierbas de zonas altas en los (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú y Venezuela), antes ubicadas en el género . El género está comprendido por 27 especies, en Colombia se encuentran R. pumila y R. pygmaea.
Etimología: en honor a M. Rockhausen, botánico alemán, cuyas contribuciones iniciales sirvieron para entender mejor la correcta nomenclatura de este grupo.
