Set up the #BuddiStick using my new BuddiMast yesterday while camping. Had a fought time getting swr down. Finally got it to 1.3 on 20M but no one could hear me, not even #CW reverse beacon network. Same on 17M at least 15M I was able to make a contact with Simon, MI0SAI, in N.Ireland from central PA. Using 6w #FT818 . RBN also heard me 2kmi away so that was redeeming. I noticed antenna height made little difference in SWR. Still need to dial in coil clips and antenna length.
Camping and tried my 6 watt #qrp #ft818 and #BuddiStick. I could hear the world but could get anyone to call back, especially the DX pileups with callers running hundreds of watts. I did get reverse beacon network to hear me on #CW which was cool. I need to get a small amp if I want to do SSB with this rig.
Had my first #QRP contact yesterday with EI0CL using #BuddiStick #FT818 SSB 6 watts 3,383 miles while on vacation from balcony in Nags Head NC
Today I finally dialed in 10 Meters on my #BuddiStick . A combination of: radial length, clip location, collapsing first section of the antenna whip and beer got me to 1:1.1 SWR. Now I need to do the same thing for the other bands I want to use this on: 15, 17, 20 and 40. #hamradio #antenna #beerWins

I had a fairly successful first time with my new #BuddiStick. Made #FT8 contacts from eastern Europe through western US and into South America. I'm still working on refining the radial length and coil tap locations. I failed to secure the tripod so it fell over at one point and bent the end of the antenna whip. I think it's still useable.

Any #hams have a #BuddiStick with the Long Telescopic Whip?
I need help with the antenna settings, antenna length and coil clips for different bands. The manual is only for standard whip.
