We had a #cycletrip to #BudleighSalterton today, which is a nice round trip of 48 km. It was a pleasant day, not too hot and with a refreshing breeze. Those of you in the know will be glad that I wore shorts and so my pump could not get stuck in my trouser leg.
The #beach is made of pebbles of various sizes ranging from the size 15-20 cm down to less than a centimetre. The colours vary from #purple and #pink to #grey and #blue.

A ten year project restoring the lower River Otter (near Budleigh Salterton) to a more natural state after the area had been meddled with by humans for centuries is reaching its end. It will help 'manage' the sea rise predicted. It is already benefitting wildlife. Today is a holiday here and so my wife and I went on an extended #cycle trip of just under 50 km total distance to the #seaside #town of #BudleighSalterton. (If you know your #MontyPython then you’ll know that #MrPither fell off his #bike there in the Cycling Tour episode. No such mishap occurred to us on our way there or back.)
The #beach there is #pebbly rather than sandy and so it makes a nice change to the usual #British seaside town.
