Oh lovely. That mild headache has now devolved into the early stages of a #migraine , complete with aura. My right eye went nearly blind from sparkles a few minutes ago. And my neck is suddenly stiff too.

I've been awake for about 2 hours. Woke up to a migraine aura. The headache began about 30 minutes later. I tried to go back to sleep to no avail. Even when my head isn't pounding, daytime sleep tends to be elusive. This day is off to a grand start.

Well that was certainly a Thursday to forget, the migraine won the battle yesterday, hurled up twice, so off to bed I went, slept on and off the whole day and night. Today will be a recovery day, lots of tea and biscuits will be consumed.

Neurologist who manages my chronic headache care and pile of medications - "And you're able to get by and do what you need to do in the day?"

Me - "Well, I've kind of organized my entire life around living in pain so, sure. But if I had to go to work or regularltly be places at particular times then, no."

I don't know how to answer these questions anymore. Like, I gave up a career and autonomy and relationships and projects, and messed with the mental health of everyone in my family, but yeah I continue to exist. 🤷‍♂️
