Urgh; just heard that the #ChurchOfScotland church that my mum goes to is probably going independent because "... the latest announcements from Edinburgh have finally tipped the balance ...". I suspect that means that the CoS isn't hating hard enough on #lgbtq folks for them, so aligning with the Free Kirk is what they want.

And I am sad now.

Spent the afternoon at Dunfermline Abbey in worship, marking the 950th anniversary of the abbey, and witnessing the signing of the Saint Margaret Deceleration (of friendship between the #ChurchOfScotland and the #Catholic Church in Scotland). All this happening on the feast day of Saint Margaret of #Scotland.

Though I’m no longer a member of the #ChurchOfScotland (or any church), I’m very pleased to see that their #GeneralAssembly has voted to #BanConversionTherapy for both sexuality and gender identity

Hopefully that will put added pressure on the Scottish Government to make their legislation as comprehensive as possible, with no loopholes for religion or ‘consent’

Scottish legislation on this is important, as UK legislation is likely to be extremely weak
