@smokeygeo @sdague Smokey, that was true 15 years ago for resistance heaters, but was NEVER true for heat pumps.

Have you looked at the efficiency data for heat pumps? The #energystar site is a good source of info.

And have you seen how much lower the GHG intensity of the electrical grid is? Renewables are already making a big difference.

And of course renewable electricity is much less vulnerable to the price volatility we see with fossil fuels.

Am I the only one to regularly destroy laptop #batteries after just a few months, by trusting the "Automatic" #charging mode in PC #BIOS? Or other #EnergyStar ™ compliant thingy set in operating system's #ACPI driver?

If I observe basic #Li-Ion #battery hygiene 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳, use full charge/discharge cycles, not overheating it in the process, not leaving in #sleep mode, my #laptop batteries work for 6+ years!
