@inam What are you trying to accomplish? What do you want to be able to do during a power outage, and for how long?
I've gone #PartialOffGrid last summer, and if I'm not heating or cooking, I won't even notice a power outage. I've turned my #FridgeOff for the winter, storing food outside.
Without knowing more, my suggestion is solar + battery + saving energy. You don't have to take *everything* off-grid, you can mix and match.
Aside from a cold spell at the start of December which set a record low of 13 °C, the room temperature naturally likes to stay between 15 and 17 °C.
We're at the start of another cold spell now, but so far the sun is shining and the indoor temperature is 17 °C.
Just hoping the outdoor "#fridge" doesn't accidentally turn into an outdoor freezer. #FridgeOff.
New grid record set! It sure is cold! ❄️❄️
The red arrow indicates where I turned the #FridgeOff. It's safe to assume that everything above 3~4 kWh is for heating.
I find this to be a very reasonable amount of energy. If I had to heat the air in my entire room electrically with a 2000 kWh heater, the consumption would be through the roof! #OffGas #NoGas #Gas
Buying the #infrared panels this summer has definitely been one of the better choices I made in life.

It's weird how fast the weather changed. When I turned off the fridge on the 28th of October, it was still too hot outside to keep *anything* safe. Now things in the "outdoor fridge" are colder than they would have been in the indoor fridge, and I have to low-key worry about the contents freezing solid.
Grid consumption dropped from 7 to 3 kWh that week. This week I set a new weekly record of 10 kWh, nearly all of that for the IR panels.
TL;DR it cold.
Consumed 7 kWh this week. That's back at where I started _before_ I turned the #FridgeOff, except now the power is going into personal heating devices.
Room temperature started at 17.0 °C this morning. These are normal winter temperatures. It's going down 👇

The weather has turned, such that it is now possible to store food outside in a sealed container. Which I'm doing. Only highly perishable foods that need to be stored below 7°C can't be accomodated. Yet.

Successfully working on #ReducingEnergy has now left me with the #fridge as the largest energy consumer. By far. It's time for the next step. Time to not merely take it #OffGrid, but simply #Off, period.
