About 3 years ago I bought a pair of "personal hearing amplifiers." Inexpensive ($300) hear aid like devices. They made a good qualify of life improvement.

Today I received a pair of Jabra Enhance 100 hearing aids, which are over-the-counter hearing aids, not mere amplifiers.

A vastly better hearing experience even after only a few minutes use. The iOS Accessibility feature allows me to control the settings quickly and easily.

I’m fortunate to have these.

After several app & online #hearing tests indicating mild to moderate hearing loss in the upper range, I’ve been looking at OTC #HearingAids. Price ranges for what I considered were between $800 and $2,650 (Jabra & Eargo being the top/bottom range devices.

Also uploaded an audiogram from the Mimi hearing test app for custom sound. So far? Definitely an improvement! More to follow.

I am a bit nervous about today’s class. It’s in a theater. Everybody sits wherever they want. It’s going to be so challenging for me to participate in discussions because even with #HearingAids, I am going to miss something or other. Even Otter.ai doesn't pick up everything. So, I can’t even read and know what others are saying.

Roger receivers can help but they are hella expensive.

As a very early Milennial or very late Gen Xer, my hearing is showing its age. I’ve often found myself in situations where a hearing aid would greatly improve the conversation, but the cost is simply prohibitive. Having never considered it before, I’m excited to try my AirPods next time I’m out with friends.

I lost my hearing aid on the air plane of my last business trip. Just popped out and after everyone deplaned, it was gone- my phone couldn’t connect.

They get the new one and say I can’t get an appointment til 12/2. I’m not hearing, so not cool with me.

They ask “well, can you pair the Bluetooth to your phone?”
To which I reply “oh, for sure”
“Oh, you don’t need an appointment. Come whenever”

How to recover a hearing aid dropped in the snow. Shovel all snow in area into large bag. Dump contents through large mesh seive or let contents melt until hearing aid remains. In my case hearing aid popped to surface while shovelling and I spotted it. Inherited hearing aids so don't quite fit but a bit of hot glue fixed that. Not sure about the sparkles but they were out of white. #sparkle #HearingAids #lifehack
