Sounds crazy, but Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown came out 25 years ago. Maybe under-rated at the time, Jackie Brown is one of the best adaptations of the great crime writer, Elmore Leonard (his '92 novel, Rum Punch, is source material). With Pam Grier in the lead and a cast that includes De Niro and Samuel L Jackson, the Guardian recently called it "a stone cold liquid nitrogen classic." Great soundtrack as well.
