A few years ago, I read an article about how ALL the American sit-coms with Black casts had lilly white writers' rooms, directors, etc. And then it turned out that #KimsConvenience was an almost all-white writers' room save for Ins Choi, and only then because he owned the rights to the characters, and they couldn't squeeze him out. So now, whenever I see Black characters on TV speaking in AAVE, I stop and think: did a white person write this? Am I being spoon-fed my own perception of Blackness?

I fear I am procrastinating. Today I have watched the last season of #kimsconvenience, the whole of #sweettooth and #enolaholmes2 but I am still far from done with Angels and Demons.

Obviously, I will have a lot to say about this book, but question how much of it will be good.
