Spend time #learning, not just in local service projects. Apply your learning year-round so in future years you can celebrate work you've done, not just clean up a school, paint at a youth center, or other types of service projects.

Volunteer involvement in on-going youth #tutormentor programs can be a form of adult #ServiceLearning.

As volunteers learn from the youth they work with, and from reading material provided by the #nonprofit organization hosting their involvement, many will understand the deeper challenges of entrenched poverty and become involved in solutions.
