Comparative genomics in #Preaxostyla confirms the complete loss of #mitochondria and full mitochondria proteome in the #oxymonad species #Monocercomonoides exilis, #Blattamonas nauphoetae, and #Streblomastix strix. This research extends the amitochondriate status to the Oxymonadida.
