#CyrilRamaphosa today declared 2022-12-27 a #PublicHoliday in #SouthAfrica. This because a Sunday #Christmas rolls over to Monday, which is also a public holiday.

He's allowed to declare a public holiday whenever he wants.

It screws up the December finances for companies who must now finance an additional day's leave for each staff member. I presume reasonable HR people would have been second-guessing the guy, and made plans. But it's still extremely inconsiderate.
