If DOJ follows all the way through with the trump election theft prosecution, WITHOUT indicting the co-conspirators (in the interest of speedy trial) would that preclude them from bringing separate case(s) against the co-cos later?
@JillWineBanks #SistersInLaw What do you suppose the current SCOTUS would do if the #ERA was suddently ratified? Are there low-hanging-fruit type cases that ppl would bring that would pretty much have to be decided differently?
Would it really have bearing on Dobbs, or would they just be like "LOL--no abortions for men and no abortions for women--EQUAL"?
Oh snap-- @JillWineBanks is on here--excellent!
I sure hope your fellow #SistersInLaw follow suit...
It even looks like #Twitter is blocking the #SistersInLaw hashtag in searches @JoyceVance @BarbMcQuade @JillWineBanks
Quick easy question for #SistersInLaw: Can we submit questions for the podcast here on Mastodon, too? I nuked my Twitter account and am not going back.

Listening to the #SistersInLaw podcast for this week, it struck me that Charles McGonigal shared a trait with Robert Hanssen - both were members of FBI counterintelligence. The GRU and other agencies are well aware of the value of co-opting those watching the watchers. While we will likely only know for sure if there is more when a book comes out in 50x1 years, it is very unnerving to see play out.
I love #sistersinlaw but you all missed the boat in your discussion of domestic terrorism. #Antifa isn't an organization like a militia--it's a stance taken by all of us who are against fascism; it's not an armed/violent group. And the FBI, like many other law-enforcement agencies, has members who are sympathetic to right-wing extremists. If that weren't so, domestic terrorism would be investigated and prosecuted the way international terrorism is.

@trinitythecat definitely check out Hysteria with Erin Ryan and Alyssa Mastromonaco, from Crooked Media, for a sanity-saving mix of humor and politics and pop culture. Basically anything from Crooked is good, but that's my fav.
Why Is This Happening with Chris Hayes is another good one - interviews with experts about incredibly wide ranging topics, relevant to the current news but also at just enough of a remove to still be timely even when listening to it months or more after it was posted.
And then, because I am that kind of nerd who, despite not being a lawyer in any fashion, enjoys listening to lawyers argue/vigorously discuss, the #SistersInLaw podcast and Talking Feds podcast are also in my highest priority list when new episodes drop.

If Trump does appeal, any chance it will land on and be decided by the Shadow Docket of #SCOTUS?
