Two real-life locations featured in the #TheDarkestDread are indeed fascinating.

The first is Casa Milà (commonly known as La Pedrera or "The Stone Quarry") in Barcelona. Designed and built by Antoni Gaudí.

Famous for it's organic, almost aquatic architecture, Casa Milà is a prominent location where Midnight attempts to capture his target, Crimson Avalanche. Sadly, this attempt ends in failure - and partial destruction of the building.

This is the setting just before the climax of the story.

The second fictional location featured in #TheDarkestDread is the fishing village of Caracolito on the northern coast of Cuba.

This location is very important because this is where Sam meets her estranged grandmother for the first time (a major plot point that propels the story forward) but also because Caracolito is inspired by another place from my childhood.

Playa Caracolito, in Higuerote, sits on the northern coast of Venezuela. Again, this area holds a special place in my heart.

Although the locations featured in #TheDarkestDread are all real-world (more on this in future posts) there are two notable exceptions.

The first, Arawak Cay, is the resort island belonging to the covert agency, Project Atlantis, and is based and modeled after Blue Lagoon (Salt Cay).

Having grown up in the Bahamas, Blue Lagoon was a place we frequented especially when friends or family would visit us.

I've got a completed manuscript titled #TheDarkestDread and I'm working on posting content on here about it.

It's a speculative and SF novel with elements of medical realism and research-based studies on death and the afterlife.

It's hard to believe #MetroidPrime turns 20 this year. Absolutely fantastic game and one of the most (arguably) memorable entries in the series.

It also provided some of the inspiration for #TheDarkestDread.

In #TheDarkestDread, the fictional covert government agency, Project Atlantis, is featured prominently and is actually based on historical truth.

In 1945, the U.S. government founded its Paranormal and Extra Sensory division in response to the Nazi Occult Project.

In the 1970's, Detachment G was founded to counter Russian psychotronic research. Further projects included The Gondola Wish Program, Grill Flame and Sun Streak but perhaps the most well-known is Stargate Project.

None exist today.
