@barfuessler Hallo, danke für den tollen Hörspieltipp. Ich höre gerade Erdsee. Hast du es schon zu Ende gehört? Ich frage, weil ich es ein sehr gutes Höspiel finde. Ich hatte viel Lob über die Autorin Ursula K. Le Guin gehört. Allerdings stört mich ein bisschen, dass ein paar Gendercliches bedient werden. Mit Gendercliches meine ich viele Kleinigkeiten zum Beispiel, dass die Zauberschule von Rokh von Männern und Frauen errichtet wurde und jetzt die Frauen nur noch kochen dürfen, aber nicht mehr lernen. Ich wollte fragen ob das so bleibt? Vielleicht ist es Teil der Geschichte und ändert sich das. Darum meine Frage ob du es evt zu Ende gehört hast.

And I feel like I appreciate what she's trying to do with her stories more, having read some of her essay collections. The subversion of the Heroic narrative, the emphasis on decentralized organization (relevant to #mastodon interests!), distain for "authority" and the power-hungry, the emphasis on the importance and strength of things too often shunned as "women's work". And of course the writing is gorgeous.

I've been slowly working my way through The Found and the Lost by Ursula LeGuin. As with any story collection, I like some better than others but last night I finished The Finder, the first fantasy story of the collection, and it was *so good*. I love LeGuin's sci-fi, but I think her writing style works especially well with fantasy.
