Great Albums - 1970s: #NeilYoung – #AfterTheGoldrush (1970). Neil painted two different portraits on his first two LPs in 1969. By the time this one arrived, he’d figured out how to stew together the plaintive folk and raggedy rock, making “Southern Man,” “Don’t Let It Bring You Down” and “When You Dance” some of his most enduring anthems. Later, a whole mess of tragedy got him howling in pain, making this album sound oddly serene in retrospect.
