I just blocked a "vihartegis" from mastodon.top, a few minutes ago.

A similar problem a few years ago arose on the #esperanto social media app, #amikumu, where a crowd of fake sExY WoManS suddenly showed up.

As well as a storm of generic 3AM "HI! How are you!" bots.

It seemed like someone had gotten around to writing a persona management software plugin for Amikumu.

We are probably in the same place with Mastodon now.
