This is a rarely visited beach. The southern side of Curlew Island. North of Shoalwater Bay but south of Mackay. Great anchorage in a northerly wind.
You can't see the extensive reef. There's really only room for 2 boats. We had 3 glorious days here. Swimming, relaxing on the beach, reading and climbing the hills.
No sandflies, no mosquitoes. Lie on the beach till it got too hot, then jump in for a swim. Repeat.
It is #crocodile country but the water was crystal clear. We took turns on croc watch.
