My latest #AppleNewton acquistion is this German book by Udo Flohr … something that’s been on my #RetroComputing want list for at least fifteen years.
As an extra bonus, it still has the sealed floppy disk.

Newton Technology is excellent at what it was designed for. I discovered it after it was obsolete, and immediately started using it for all of my notes. Its calendar and address book and to do list all work on their own, and sync is possible with serial or WiFi.

Yes the handwriting recognition is fantastic and makes my notes beautiful.
Plugging into serial for internet access is more difficult, so I just got WiFi PCMCIA

I really miss the #AppleNewton 😢it was SO good.
The iPhone is really nice, but honestly, i liked the Newton better. I think we'd be at a better place if Jobs had let Newton inc. continue to grow after it'd been spun off instead of killing it in its infancy.

@socketwench #AppleNewton eMate 300 prototype at The Centre for Computing History. Very few of these transparent eMates were ever produced, making this one a very rare exhibit. The eMate perhaps inspired the design of the clamshell iBook laptops from the #90s.
