The Atom code editor is in the MIDDLE of being "sunsetted" by Microsoft, in favor of their own MS Studio Code.
Atom is an amazing text and code editor that has been in development for over 11 years by the team behind GitHub.
It might be a good idea to search for and put as many of its extensions onto the WayBack Machine before decades of work disappear!
Atom's package manager is already down.

614 followers · 251 posts · Server mastodon.socialSo many fond memories of the Atom Editor which was archived on GitHub yesterday, giving rise to Electron apps (good and bad), but gave rise to VS Code and other editors and tools that at least have made tools accessible across Windows, macOS and Linux.
They made some weird choices along the way with CoffeeScript even as it was falling out of favor in the JavaScript ecosystem.
