by: Robert Fikes, 2020
"Handsome, learned, and well-spoken, Randolph, who purported to be a medical doctor, found his stride on the lecture circuit speaking across the United States and in Europe and the Caribbean on #Occult esoterica, trance mediumship, clairvoyance, sexual magic, medical potions, abolition of slavery, women’s rights, and the importance of literacy." #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackHistory #BlackOccultists #OccultHistory

Current read (borrowed from a library) Paschal Beverly Randolph : a nineteenth-century Black American spiritualist, rosicrucian, and sex magician by John P. Deverney. I'd love to own my own copy, but it's so dense -- the Appendix is almost as many pages as the main content! I did find a PDF copy -- it's the sort of text that benefits from being searchable, imho.
