Bob Dylan - The Bootleg Series Vol. 17: Fragments: Time Out of Mind Sessions

Am I the only one who thinks that a crucial element is missing in the new mix? Without the production element of Daniel Lanois the album feels amputated. To me the original album is still one of the highlights of his career.

Sunday afternoon & I’m #NowListening to #Fragments, the latest installment from the #BobDylan #BootlegSeries.

This first disk from the Deluxe 10 LP #vinyl edition is a remix of the #album #TimeOutOfMind.

I’ve many thoughts regarding the set (mostly positive), but the remix is, for me, a highlight. I don’t see this as replacing the OG, but it does reveal elements otherwise hidden under the #Lanois treatment. This #RyanKSmith cut is spacious, rich & dynamic.

#Fragments is out. The 17th release in Bob Dylan’s Bootleg Series covers his Time out of Mind years, some of his best works ever. Six hours of outtakes and alternative versions. There goes my Friday.

It’s not too hard to find. It’s not a real “bootleg” in the old meaning of the word (completely unauthorised release).

Dylan has been releasing this series called the #BootlegSeries which are all unreleased tracks, alternative versions (some of which are better than the official released versions).

So, #TellTaleSigns is an official album released but called a bootleg (confusing no?).

Anyway it has a great version of Mississippi and a fantastic version of another Dylan song I love called Most of the Time.
