Apparently it's #SussexDay today, must admit I didn't know it was a thing but for everything great about #BrightonAndHove it sometimes doesn't really participate in county stuff. Like we don't even have a Bonfire Society.

In any case, it's cool, haven't the free time to do anything about it (save have some local food or drink, which I'd probably do anyway).

Update on Afrori Books - they've found a new location (Brighthelm Centre). Last day at current site is 22 April, reopening 6 May.

Lools like the crowdfunder has closed - last I saw they were close to the £25k goal to cover moving costs.

Close to me in #BN33LP are these much used steps with these ignored barriers at both ends.
#brightonandhove council have had them insecurely closed since last OCTOBER for safety reasons!
They should fix this accident waiting to happen or be prepared for an accident!

Really great IDM #gig at The Brunswick in #Hove - really high class from the first openers (Xylitol and Ibrahim Alfa Jr), some nicely abstract stuff from the headliner Meemo Comma and closing out with a set from one of the giants of the genre - µ-Ziq.

It's weird but so cool that you do sometimes have really hefty acts just playing in pubs in #BrightonAndHove. One of many reasons I love this city.

While grabbing a local calendar as the final Christmas gift of the year I stumbled across this in City Books.

Brighton & Hove has a decently-sized Jewish community (though strangely under the radar versus, say, East London) that's been around for as long as this place has been remotely relevant in any lasting way. So very keen to learn about their local history!

Nice pint at The Watchmaker's Arms near Hove station. One of many lovely things to crop up around there about twenty minutes after I moved away!

This drink is their own Christmas brew, a nice old ale, perfect for winter and one of those real ale styles that seem to be cropping up a bit more often recently.
