I've always wondered what these #britishrail plates are for. There's quite a few of them in Bradford city centre.

However I've just worked out, while writing this toot, that they point to Bradford's two central rail stations; Forster Square and the Interchange.

I don't recall seeing these anywhere else! Surely they do appear in other cities?

Today's news of closure of UK rail ticket offices requires two things to happen first. 1. Replace the station ticket machines with ones that reliably work 2. Replace the software that is simpler and clearer to use.

Well, it's a funny old world.

First of all, years ago #BritishRail took out a worldwide patent for a #nuclear flying saucer that can carry 22 people in it's cabin (😂, btw!) , and NOW the government (UK Space Agency!) sign a contract with #RollsRoyce to develop a #nuclear reactor for a #moonbase

And in the last six months, I've encountered three people (2 designers, and one safety inspector) actively designing #SMRs locally.

It's all going on in #Derby these days. Move over #Houston.

I worked on British Railway-stations in buffets in '70's. Low wages but almost free travel 🙂. That brought me to Devon several times. In the full 80's with my wife. After that by car.all over GB.
But The Dartmoor Line is calling...

The videos include the infamous #BritishRail #APT-P which honestly is my favourite british train by design and I'm delighted I was able to visit the real one in Crewe last summer! The model is from Hornby back when the original still ran and it features functional tilting.
