As Dutch lad , I worked on several BR-stations in '70's. In Basingstoke I lived a few months in the station. A luxe shared app above the groundlevel. On the railside. Every late evening, a British "trash", ( class 37 or 45 ? ) exact underneath my window idling for an hour. Never forget that sound !

Deltic 55 I don't call trash !
I saw them all coming in and going out from my workplace at King's Cross.
Don't forget that unique sound either 🙂

British Railways

We are Dutch and have a history of travelling by train all over Great Britain from the '70's till '80's.
I worked for BR-catering on railway-stations 2 years, 29 years on trains on the continent, in buffet and restaurants .

We still like to travel in the UK, but rather by car.
Train is too expensive, chaotic and not reliable .

But...
The British trains still have beautiful designs ! 🙂

This APT at Carlisle took me quite a while to draw, and publish. I finished it on Sunday, but since then i have been on two day-long hikes for my degree. I'm still quite sore from that. But I think the APT-P might be used to production delays.
