The wife got my shorts put together so I could get changed and go outside a bit today but #LittleBit was having nothing to do with it.

The #cats have learned that certain behaviors, like my shoes and other clothing, means I will be outside of the house.

Any other #homebound #Disabled person have a cat that protects them or exhibits concern when you are about to leave the "nest?"

so my baby sister picked up my 78yo momma a couple hours ago.. giving me a caretaking break this next week.. first few hours I dunno what to do with myself! I had some oreos.. and then a couple christmas cookies with nutella.. and erm.. I'm so used to being on call .. heh.. As holidays loom, please don't forget #caretakers you know. Whether for #dementia, #autism, or many others, if you've never been a 24/7 caretaker with no relief, I'll tell you freely that you have NO CLUE what they face. And a big chunk of typical "support" offered is not in the least helpful. I'm considering doing some writing about that, but here's the shortest recap I can offer: DON'T give unsolicited advice. DO offer breaks and private time away from the home. Holidays are really hard.

Does anyone else also carry an "emergency knitting" bag with you everywhere? You never know when you'll be stranded somewhere for 3 hours. Well, now I'm sitting in urgent care with an injured family member. Yay for headphones and emergency knitting bag!

Now even every 2nd #nurse in #Vienna is said to want giving up their job, madness, but understandable.
And #mandatory #vaccination will exacerbate this situation again - as if it is not bad enough yet.
High time for a change of course, better #salaries and work conditions for the #caretakers and end with #ZEROCOVID variants, but live WITH the virus!
