Interesting; uploads to #Alpine stay around 850mbps; downloads from #Alpine match #ClearLinux at 900mbps.
I guess the Clear Linux magic is real. :clearlinux:
Now the really important question is, do I care? π
@jonathan I tried #ClearLinux and I liked it, but didn't they announce that they were de-emphasizing the desktop a while ago?
Remember when #ClearLinux came out? Got good benchmarks. No one talks about it these days though.
It's the final Saturday of August and that means we are doing another chat at the #LinuxSaloon about #ClearLinux. Could this be one of the most unique distributions out there? Join in the conversation tonight at 8pm.

The goal of βstatelessβ is to provide a system OS that functions without user configuration. A system should not require editing of configuration files by the end user before it is functional, nor should it place lengthy and confusing configuration files automatically in user-maintained file system areas by default. And additionally, any configuration placed in user-maintained configuration should be removable without breaking functionality. :clearlinux:

Well, well, well. :clearlinux:

Well, new #gnome 3.36.2-ish in #clearlinux now. Update to 32990 to get it π π
@donteaford I've wanted to try #clearlinux for a while, any noteworthy differences with other distros?
Intel's recent community efforts around Clear Linux -- and even certain touches they've implemented to the installer -- have given me the strong belief that the company is looking to serve people just like me in the near future. So I asked the burning question directly, and Intel just answered it.
OK, so that's a strike against #ClearLinux, there is little in the way of fine-grained package control. As far as I can tell its an all-or-nothing approach.
IE if I want to remove Emacs from the default install, it requires removing a whole buttload of system utilities, due to dependency requirements.
If I want to remove Evolution, which I do, it requires uninstalling the default Gnome-shell packages along with it.
So that's a clear no to Clear Linux for me.
