@Anneheathen what you need is #ColorManagement. Assuming your screens are already calibrated (enough), check printer support website for color profile (ICC). Otherwise, or for better results, you'll need some calibration probe + software.
You can go read on the topic, it's complex but very rewarding if you're curious about colors

Does anybody know why some pictures here on Mastodon are shown with correct (calibrated) colors in Firefox, some are not?

The four test images at the start on https://www.color.org/version4html.xalter are displayed correctly (tiles not visible), so I think it's not the browser.

I was reluctant to post old photos of mine here, but in doing so, I'm viewing them again for the first time on a much better display device 🖥️

My older photos appear a little flat to me. 'Seems like I need to apply some #ColorManagement to enhance their appeal 🎨

Until I do, make sure to expand the images ↖️ ↘️ and then press the [F11] key while using your Web browser to enable Full Screen mode (press the [F11] key again to return to normal mode) 😃
