It’s obvious, Margaret.

Regional Victoria stood to benefit long term from legacy projects proposed to be built from the Commonwealth Games.

Now, the Games aren’t going ahead, but the projects are, it’s still a gain. Which is a win for regional Victoria.

It’s not that complex.

In short, the state saves billions, regional Victorians get the infrastructure they need.

The monarchy get shafted.

What’s not to love?

Hey #CommonwealthGames Organisers - there's a big island of plastic in the Pacific that's currently unoccupied and available.

You might have to plant an English flag on it first to make it kosher, but that hasn't stopped you before.

There was a story on ABC radio (either News Radio or ABC Brisbane) in which the guy they interviewed said it was better than holding the games.

However, he added that Andrews had made a big mistake when he offered to hold them.

I believe the #CommonwealthGames should be give a semi-permanent location for several years.

It would allow even unpopular sporting facilities to be reused several times & make the games more attractive for hosts.

Perhaps if two cities were chosen for alternate games for twenty-four years. It'd give each city three Games in a row & an incentive to maintain facilities.
