Full readings from my time at the PCP this week. Not good - especially in a known COVID surge in MA - better ventilation, HEPA (merv 13) filters, and masking would go miles in protecting your staff and patients from acquired illness at your facilities.

**Outdoors, CO2 levels are 400-475 ppm. Above 800 ppm, at least 1% of your air is “shared” - meaning you're breathing in exhaled air. CO2 levels above 1,000 ppm is a sign there are elevated risks of potential virus transmission for everyone in the room. Spaces with multiple occupants should aim for 600 ppm to prevent cross-infection.

#Aranet4 data logger capabilities allows one to simply calculate air changes per hour (ACH) by taking CO₂ decay data and plugging it in to a typical decay rate function.

The local facility manager continues to say these meeting houses are safe, to code and highly energy efficient! I agree only with the latter, 'energy efficient!" 😉

Took the cats to the vet today. The staff were super nice and didn't rush even though they were short staffed (many staff were out with COVID). Levels were high in the waiting area and exam rooms, but cracking a window in the exam room brought things back down quickly. Masking and cracking the windows are great ways to lower transmission risk.

I think we made it through without #covid despite the over-3000 #covidCO2 #flight last week! #WearTheDamnMask (It's been 7 days, and all three of us are still feeling fine and negative on serial antigen tests.)

I wonder how everyone else is doing, though, considering that there was a lot of coughing and we were some of the very few people wearing snug KN95 #masks. 🥺

Airplane ventilation is still an issue. We took a half-full #United flight from Denver late on Dec. 28th, and CO2 (and temperature) spiked during boarding and especially de-icing. We were in KN95s but most (including crew) were not; lots of coughing. Levels dropped to around 1000 during the flight. #covidCO2 #CovidIsNotOver

On Wednesday I felt safe eating inside the Just Salad because I got low CO2 readings. Still, I thought I'd miscalibrated my PTH-8, since it gave low readings at Just Salad and Stumptown Coffee, and in the Admin Hub.

Then I took the 7 train home. There were delays due to a broken rail, so the train was very crowded, and the CO2 levels went up over 2000! Fortunately, they went down a bit once we got out of the tunnel and people started getting off the train... #covidCO2
