@justyourluck My 10,000 mark was my metric from 2021, before HHS changed reporting requirements and before the CDC changed their methodology July 4.
Total Deaths has been underscored the whole time IMO, because it's subjective. I think Excess Deaths tells the story, but isn't helpful as a an indicator.
As I see it, there are only 2 metrics presently that hasn't been altered: wastewater and Hospital Admissions. Both can be scoring lower due to variants escaping testing, but I would think procedurally at water plants nothing is changing retrogressively, and hospital testing if anything would be getting more lax.
So I really need to see both of those nil and flat, combined with personal observations being "have I encountered anyone sick, or referencing someone sick, in less than a month?".
I'm still tossing out the 10,000 number when I get people asking if I'm giving #guitarlessons in person, because it's quick and simple - and is usually enough that if people are #coviddeniers they're not going to waste my time any further.
... but I'm a #pessimist. I think (I'll bet on it) January will peak again; I won't even engender thinking "maybe it's getting better " when the *flux* of sickness *obviously* indicates we're STILL IN A #PANDEMIC*. Ahrgh... The #Establishment pretending there is some question as to whether or not covid is still an issue is what I hope gets tamped down with #hellsite losing some validity. /stopping

One thing you can say about all the platforms that are taking over Twitter:

The #antivaxers, #Coviddeniers, #Covidhystericals are all there in their glory.

It does not make for ‘gentle’ conversation and none of them do it based upon ‘facts’. They are just following their agendas and forcing others to listen.

If you have an article you believe we need to see put it up but your agendas are stressful and unhelpful.
