If that was the idea, that design should have been cemented 20 years ago -- but now the city has grown to the point that it is impossible to convert all these local roads into a thruway along the lines of Freedom Parkway. The closest thing we have to a thruway is Scott Blvd, but it has houses, business, and side streets all along the way. Even Scott will need to be slowed when we admit that cities are places to go, not go thru.

96 followers · 885 posts · Server theatl.socialA hawk perched on my back fence during the thunderstorm, looking at the dragonflies. It hung out as I watched it from 10 feet away, and was unperturbed as my whole family came outside to gawk.
The amount of wildlife in urban Atlanta (Decatur) still surprises me -- I see more dragonflies and hawks than I ever saw in more suburban area that I've lived. While the suburban area had deer and foxes, I never heard about coyotes, like I do here.
