Upcoming demo-party 'Function' in the country with the funniest sounding language on the planet https://2023.function.hu #demoScene #Hungary Egészségére! :)
Superfluous, but fun :) Pushed a work-in-progress branch of this to https://github.com/MacSlow/kmscon/tree/shader-background. Also using the sweet "Protean Clouds" by stormoid (aka nimitz) from Shadertoy #demoScene #linux
Totally forgot how cool the ShaderToy-viewer 'CineShader' is... https://cineshader.com/view/dtXyDj #shaderToy #cineShader #demoScene

Bit boring start of the weekend... a good excuse to try writing an 'atmospheric scattering'-like effect... kind of works, but needs more polish https://shadertoy.com/view/dtXyDj #shader #demoScene #shaderToy
What could one do with animated backgrounds via OpenGL|ES in a systems-console... aside from bragging rights and eye-candy splendor? #linux #terminal #demoScene
Some very brief impressions from this years @evoke demoscene party. Just a few photos, since I was to busy enjoying the atmosphere and all the competitions! #demoScene
Anybody currently at @revisionparty who knows furnace and can spare brain-cycles to help kickstart my effort to get https://macslow.org/music/Song-Improv-in-G-minor.ogg (played on regular hardware synth) in tracker-format (probably using some Yamaha emulation)? Thanks in advance! #demoscene #synthwave
At last... today I did not forget half the cables in the hotel... thus full 'battle-station' is set up now this morning #demoscene @revisionparty #synthwave 🎹🤘
Want to count the particles in the @revisionparty logo? And at the same time test how far you can push your browser and GPU... https://macslow.org/js/webgl2-transform-feedback-morph.html #demoscene Share and enjoy!
Small set of impressions from the party floor at @revisionparty 2023 #demoscene
Touchdown in Saarbrücken... @revisionparty 2023!!! Amigaaaa!!! #demoscene Finally!!!
Soon... very soon... so excited to be able to attend my second #demoscene @revisionparty 2023 this weekend!!! Should you need a ride from the AC/DN/K/D-area in NRW around Friday morning, DM me and we can see, if I can pick you up.
In 2010, I was still discovering the #demoscene, and I tried to make my first demo with some friends. We targeted 64kB (for the full animation, music, textures, etc). After 8 months of work, we published this:
https://www.ctrl-alt-test.fr/productions/b-incubation/
We had to procedurally generate everything. We totally underestimated the work needed for transitions and for the camera control.
Lots of things went wrong, but I'm still very happy with the result.
Source code included.

Finally implemented an idea for an ordered-palette generator. The input is 24-bit and it spits out an indexed image with a nice set of gradients.
Hopefully this means less need for shadetables going forward. #demoscene
