Back in the day Mum would do roast beef

And then the next day we kids would have the fat and congealed meat juice from the roasting pan spread on fresh white bread for lunch

It was called “having dripping for lunch” so that it seemed semi legit

This makes it sound like I grew up in the early 1930s, but this was probably the mid-1980s
