We are Incredibly excited to announce our 2023 Advisory Board members. I am super excited to see our project win the local ANZ Hackathon round for Inclusiveness Analyzer!! With the Inclusiveness Analyzer project we want to create a more inclusive Microsoft and impact our wider industry by bringing awareness to the non-inclusive language that we might be using unconsciously in our day to day interactions.
All credit to Marcus Carvalho who came up with the idea for building the GitHub Action version of the original plugin that we made for Visual Studio for this hackathon.
We then had a dream team come together with Tracy Yu, Catherine Watkins, Cédric Blomart, Jason Thompson and Adarsh Rema to build out not just a GitHub Action but also an Azure DevOps extension, update the Visual Studio extension to support VS 2022 as well as tie it altogether with the site at InclusivenessAnalyzer.com
Our awesome ANZ judges were impressed that we built all this in just five days.
If you are a developer, we would really love to see you make your code inclusive by adding Inclusiveness Analyzer to your project.
Try it out at InclusivenessAnalyzer.com
PS I also want to thank the Microsoft Identity family (IDNA D&I) for creating a very unique D&I culture within Microsoft where D&I is not just a buzz word but something we live by and put into practice everyday. I was fairly ignorant of D&I before I joined Microsoft a couple of years ago. Not only have I learnt a lot, I have also been given the freedom and encouragement to work on initiatives like this. Thanks to my manager Ben Wolfe and LTs Prasanna Samarawickrama, Susan Bohn and Joy Chik ❤️
