What could we learn from the species-rich Sebacinales ("Wachskrusten") about evolution and ecology of fungi?

The fungi live mostly in symbiosis with a wide variety of plant species, are also involved in ectomycorrhiza (symbiosis with woody plants), and form wax-like fruiting bodies on the soil, litter, moss or wood.

Garnica et al. identified the evolution of nutrition strategies and estimated the age of the group using molecular data.
