I'm thinking about why I like the movie #EverythingEverwhereAllAtOnce and why I like #discordianism and I think the reasons are similar. In the movie, characters learn to perform bizarre and random-seeming gestures in order to untether themselves from their current reality. Discordian thought and literature tends to do something similar. Relentlessly subverting, sabotaging, or exploding patterned predictable behavior in favour of surprise and weirdness.

Few people know that #EverythingEverwhereAllAtOnce was based on an unfinished draft of a play by Samuel Beckett called Nothing anywhere ever.

(Samuel Beckett was of course the Irish author who lived in France and was known for driving André the Giant to school every day once he’d grown out of the school taxi)
