Very sad to hear the news today that the University of Sydney plans to no longer support the Molonglo Observatory after June 2023.
This important piece of Australian astronomical history is still producing some excellent scientific results today, esp. in the field of Fast Radio Bursts.
There is so much to love about this telescope, I hope it finds funding (philanthropic, commercial, Govt, crowdsourced, etc.) to keep it going.

A team of researchers made this discovery thanks to the FAST radio telescope in China. Recently, the number of known fast radio bursts has increased significantly but in this case, it's a repeating phenomenon that makes it rare and particularly interesting.

There have only been 2 #fastRadioBursts detected or only 2 from magnetars? #magnetar sounds like a supervillain BTW.
I kinda doubt an advanced civilization would willing output that kind of energy as a beacon, unless it were the equivalent of a powering a lightbulb to them.
