#Misogyny etc makes it worse but really it's the way that social media makes public figures less remote and yet makes people as a whole more remote (less human).

Avatars don't bleed. A name on a screen is just a string of characters.

Yet if you take away anonymity you isolate and silence the most vulnerable as well as the most dangerous.
