I'm legendarily bad at fighting games, the definition of a button masher who can't figure out combos well and has no blocking strategy. So of course, when I FINALLY have a computer that's good enough to emulate the Sega Saturn what do I do?

Play Last Bronx first thing. The 3D backgrounds are really killer for the era, it is easy enough for like 4-5 stages/rounds then I just get my ass handed to me.

It’s a good time to get into fighting games with games like Street Fighter 6.

There genre has had an initial hump new players had to get over with executing fast button combos, to get into the actual game of trying to figure out your opponent and how to get around them.

The optional modern controls change that a lot by making it easier to start, while still maintaining balance.

I had a #stroke back in Jan 2019 which, at this point, leaves me with some weakness and dis-coordination in my right side, including my hand. About two years later I'd try getting into #fightinggames. Since then, it's been an interesting journey of trying to figure out a good controller as I have trouble using just my thumb for pressing the face buttons on a standard pad. I've found a good control scheme to play with since then but holy shit are pads near universally awful quality. #videogames

I promised more pics of my #arcadestick! Built from scratch from acrylic plates, always in progress, and surprisingly reliable, the SaltFighter V5a is the closest i get to feeling like a shonen protagonist.

I built it from scratch in 2014 and have been iterating on it since, swapping out parts Ship of Theseus style.

With each new game i learn i add artwork of my main to a button. It's a symbol of where I've been. Who I've been.

Wanted to make a most wanted fighter list for Nickelodeon All Star Brawl, but then the whole roster got leaked, so I guess we're making a DLC wishlist now!

Timmy Turner and Angelica are probably the most likely and realistic options on here, Tak was pretty big in the 2000s and he's a great rep for Nick's video game history, and Kappa Mikey is my big niche "never gonna happen" pick which I don't think Nick even owns.
