Now if you’re wondering what a paternoster rig is, it’s this: heavy ass star sinker at the end of the leader line lugs the rest of it out when you cast. Paternoster knot at right makes a perpendicular t-bone to stick your hooks on. It is crucial to get this right. This is one piece of line. The green bead stops the hook from falling off and keeps its line straight. top swivel attaches to main line. Got drenched and tangled at Maroubra last night, wasn’t fun. Forgot rubber mallet: couldn’t bury, rod fell over, reel in sand. Questionable casting.On the plus side I friction’ nailed an FG knot in my hands using a tiny split shot to stop the braid end from slipping.
