A search into this structure leads to Shakespeare (although I’m reading that they say The Bard did not put divisions of acts and scenes into his work; that editors did that afterward) It also leads to Ars Poetic by Horace and Technique of the Drama by Gustav Freytag.

Also, Poetics by Aristotle prescribed dramatic acts with a 3 Part structure later developed by Aelius Donatus.
