Wishing you a Happy Easter (or equivalent)! Today I produced my best batch ever of hot cross buns. Only enough paste in the piping bag for three actual crosses, but they taste the same whether holy or not. I think the success is largely down to me letting the dough rise inside the microwave. Not that I microwaved them, just that it's a sealed box with no draughts.

This year not a blossom open yet and a blanket of snow is still melting. Last week this year's shoots and blossom stems were well hidden below a foot of snow. The daffodil photo time stamps show this year's bloom is late.

Prudhoe Castle, famously the only border castle never taken by the Scots
Which probably explains a lot about prudhoe!
If you are in the NE its well worth a visit though, not as famous as Bamburgh or Warkworth but it's walls,keep and moat (now grass filled and a lovely orchard) are magnificent, and this was taken in the fully intact 11th C Chapel above the Main Gate

The Green Lady Dances.

This was taken in a beautiful fjord in the east of called Berufjörður. We were staying in a friendly place called Djúpivogur at the time. The pyramidal mountain is named Búlandstindur.

I use a longer exposure for my aurora shots than most people, this one was about 15 seconds. I find that it gives a more starry background.
