Scribe of MS26957 (British Library) had an interesting take on what to use as drawings in a siddur (prayer book), Here we have a bunny connected to the word "blessed"...

"These are the generations of Itzchak (Isaac)". The midrash says That in Isaac's case, part of his "begetting" is the fact that his father Avraham was a tzadik (righteous), and so is he. The illustrator counterpoints this with these two faces, which are Esav (Esau) and Yaakov (Jacob), and the larger one, which is Avraham. Itzchak is quite literally squished between them, and is the patriarch we have the most trouble finding why, exactly, he is a tzadik.

I am deeply moved by this combination of Alef and Lamed, making but not really the word E-L, a general Hebrew term for God. (this is from a siddur - prayerbook - produced in Germany on the 14th to 15th centuries)
