I finished Andrew Holleran's "The Kingdom of Sand" the other night. Great read. His style is observational, and he is able to paint a picture of the world surrounding characters, and their internal state. No earth shattering surprises, more of an elegiac homage to gay men growing old. This is a book that brackets his first book, Dancer from the Dance - about gay men in their youth.

Four stars easily.
