After lunch I attended the "hallway track" at PyCon DE 2023 🇩🇪🐍

After giving my talk, it was the best way to relax a bit, answer some questions about my talk and chat with tons of people 🗣️

thinking back on the #DellTechnologiesForum today

I get the feeling that #Dell is living in the past - or selling only at an enterprise level and failing to connect with #SMEs

I went to 3 seminars in the #FutureOfWork track, and detected a bit too much #GreenWashing

Normally, what I like about conferences is a #HallwayTrack

With all the noise and the ill chosen background music, any type of conversation (in the gaps between seminars) was hard work

hence I left early!

Currently working on a #fediverse #twitter #spaces clone, a kind space to talk casually, and find people talking across the fediverse, discussions you can join like overhearing an interesting conversation at a conference (#hallwaytrack).

Unlike jitsi and jam and discord etc, I want to align to the federated ethos that it should be easy to host yourself, use ActivityPub, and enjoy strong moderation from folks you know. Would love some #reactjs help!

folks talking about making the conference goers give conference report. which is, imo, 85% not the purpose of conferences. the talks will be available online latter, often. to me, it's a gathering of the tribe, getting together with other developers to exchange smaller-scale discussions & conversations about what your work is like, & what you're doing, & what's working well & what's not. it's a way to share context, & get a pulse on the industry. it's 85% about #HallwayTrack for me.
