#Menorah is just #Hebrew for light. There are a variety of #candelabras associated with general #Jewish use (typically intertwined with the image of #Jews as a pre-20th century relic). These can have any number of candles like any candelabra.
A #Hannukiah is a #ceremonial menorah used to represent the story of #Hannukah, which is required to have a shamesh (elevated leader candle) and 1 candle holder for each night (8) for a total of 9 candles.

People are dunking on former VP #MikePence for sending out a Happy #Hannukah wish with a #menorah, not a #hannukiah. The difference is that menorahs have seven branches, while hannukiah have nine. Hannukiah are specialized menorahs that are only used this time of year. You can argue that they should have used a hannukiah, and that's fair, but at the end of the day you're being kind of pedantic.
At least the Pences didn't use the Grav bong I've seen around.
